In Fontanile there is a village mini-market with a good range of household supplies and food. Fresh fruit and vegetables and a good cheese, meats & pasta selection.
The 'Cupola Cafe', the village cafe in the main square, relax and have a coffee and a brioche. A small restaurant will also be opening soon near Cascina Berchi on via Trento Trieste just outside the historic medieval walls.
On the other side of the valley Mombaruzzo also has a good selection of fresh fruit/vegetable stores. Mombaruzzo is also famous as the birthplace of 'Amaretti' cookies, delicious with a coffee! Francesco Moriondo, born in Mombaruzzo, created the soft and fragrant "Amaretti" of Mombaruzzo with a friend in 1798 using apricot seed and other whole indredients. His company continues today in Mombaruzzo, more than two centuries later!
